Shoulder Season Continues

05/01/2008 14:00

It is the first of May and it snowed 1' in Park City and 15" in Snowbird. A few years back, while living in Chicago, I would be getting ready to head to the Derby for a weekend of mint juleps with the boys. Since I am now head local in Park City, I am going to take advantage of yet another spring storm and head out for a sunrise skin at Deer Valley.

The plan is to be at the Silver Lake parking lot at 6am and head straight up the Sterling Lift line.
I did this last week (see Locals Shoulder Season post from last Friday). There are 3 nobs on Little Reb and Nabob - the last nob was windblown last week. Should be a little better this week as it hasn't been to windy and it stayed cool since the snow fell yesterday and today. Staying close to the trees provides about 25 sweet turns that should be protected from the wind.

For the evening locals fuel up, head to 1/2 price sushi and local beer in Kimball Junction and catch the Penguins sweeping the Rangers.
